This article explains why it’s necessary to share your location with the givestar app, and how to enable this in your settings.
Some of our features, such as Boost Donate (contactless donations) are only available in certain regions. In order for these features to work, we need to verify that you are in an eligible location and therefore require you will need to share your location with the givestar app.
When you install the givestar app, you’ll be asked if you want to share your location. You can select either ‘whilst using the app’ or ‘always’.
If you miss this notification, you can enable location sharing by following these steps.
How to enable location sharing on iPhone:
- Open ‘settings’
- Scroll down until you see givestar in your list of apps
- Tap on ‘location’ and select ‘whilst using the app’
How to enable location sharing on Android:
- Open ‘settings’
- Scroll down to apps, then find and select givestar
- Tap on ‘permissions’
- Tap on ‘location’ and select ‘whilst using the app’
- Allow ‘nearby devices’
You’ll need to force close and reload the app in order for any changes to take effect.
