givestar Enterprise - Using the G2 in CharityGo

This article will inform you of a step by step guide of how to use our G2 devices within the app, CharityGo.

 

Using the G2 within CharityGo is compatible with iOS software of 16.4 or later, running with an iPhone XS or above. In regards to our Android users - each phone must have NFC capability and is google certified with a software of Android 11.

First, download the CharityGo app in the relevant app store - kindly note the app icon is green and white. 

You will need to allow the app to access your device’s location ‘While using the app’, and allow connection of ‘Nearby devices’ if offered. You will also require a good/stable internet connection, either via WIFI or 4G/5G.  XS or above. In regards to our Android users - each phone must have NFC capability and is google certified with a software of Android 11.

You will need to allow the app to access your device’s location ‘While using the app’, and allow connection of ‘Nearby devices’ if offered. You will also require a good/stable internet connection, either via WIFI or 4G/5G. Additionally, bluetooth permissions needs to be enabled.

1. To start setup, go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Contactless Donation Settings’.  
2. On your mobile device press ‘Set Up The G2’.

3.Your phone will look for available readers, Your reader will be displayed as The G2, with the serial number underneath. Press the connect button next to the reader in the list. Your reader will pair (the first time you do this, the reader may require an update, which can take up to 10 mins. follow the on screen instructions.).
4. Select 'Start Fundraising' in the menu bar, and select your campaign accordingly. 
5. By selecting your campaign, simply continue to 'press to donate'. You will be presented with options of an amount to be donated. From choosing the selected amount, continue to press confirm. 
*A platform fee may be offered to be covered, depending on the charity you are fundraising for - kindly note this is not always the case.
6. Payment window opens showing donation amount, Tap or insert card on reader to complete the payment.

*When doing a contactless payment, the payment card should be presented to the top of the reader.

When taking a card payment, the card must be inserted into the reader from the bottom


7. Press ‘Donation Complete’ button to return to the beginning of the flow.

Additional:
- If Gift Aid collection has been enabled by your charity admin, the donor can enter their details after making payment

- If turned on, the Contact form will appear after a donation has been made, following the gift aid form.
You can use the contact form to collect donor details, as well as send an email receipt for the donation!

You may need to disconnect your reader from your phone, either once you are finished using it, or to pass it to another fundraiser.

This is a very simple process.
1. Go back to Settings -> Contactless Donation Settings -> ‘Set up the G2’
2. Tap Disconnect Reader, and you will see the reader back in the ‘Select your reader’ list. This reader will now be available to connect to another device.
