This article will inform you of a step by step guide of how to use our Tap On Phone (Boost Donate) feature within the app, CharityGo.
The Boost Donate feature in the app CharityGo allows you to take contactless donations with just your smartphone, and no card readers involved!
The Boost Donate feature is compatible with iOS software of 16.4 or later, running with an iPhone XS, iPhone 11 or above. In regards to our Android users - each phone must have NFC capability and is google certified with a software of Android 11.
First, download the CharityGo app in the relevant app store - kindly note the app icon is green and white.
You will need to allow the app to access your device’s location ‘While using the app’, and allow connection of ‘Nearby devices’ if offered. You will also require a good/stable internet connection, either via WIFI or 4G/5G.
As soon as you log in, CharityGo will automatically be paired with boost donate, pending you meet the criteria.

This can be viewed in 'Settings', and then 'Contactless Donation Settings'.
Select 'Start Fundraising' in the menu bar, and select your campaign accordingly.

By selecting your campaign, simply continue to 'press to donate'. You will be presented with options of an amount to be donated. From choosing the selected amount, continue to press confirm.
*A platform fee may be offered to be covered, depending on the charity you are fundraising for - kindly note this is not always the case.
Upon confirming the donation amount, the donor should hold their card horizontally at the top of your iPhone, over the contactless symbol, or on the back of the phone if you are an android user. 
Upon taking the donation, the screen will symbolise it is done and proceed to thank the donor.
Additional functionality such gift aid and putting in contact details can also be added. By implementing a contact form, this also allows the donor to decide whether they receive a receipt due to providing their email address.
Boost Donate takes apple pay, google pay and Samsung pay. Cards accepted include Visa, Mastercard and American Express - kindly note when using a credit/debit card directly, there is a £100 limit!
